I might change the pair in front of the back four to Obiang and Song.

Our performances have shown Obiang is a must, Kouyate has been awful for a good number of games as well.

I think we have 4 players with the potential to be good to excellent central midfielders.
However if I think if any of them are ask to play defensive midfielder by themselves as things have work out in parts of recent games then they will struggle against a number of teams. More as other managers learn more about how we play.
Song was a vital part of why we had success in the first half of last season but he was an important part of why we struggled in the second half at least at times. I would like to see him play and give him the chance to (like Carroll) to get to full fitness before I either cement his place in the side or write him off.
Kayoute is an excellent defensive midfielder, (he is quick, tall and build for breaking up play) that also has some other positive attributes. Those attributes are very seductive but have also been erratic and he seems to abandon his defensive play all together when he focuses on them. Yesterday he was very frustrating to watch - a lot of walking and a lot of ignoring opposition players who were a step or two away from him. Him or the manager needs to sort that.
Obiang plays his role. Comes and get the ball from the back four (ie. preventing a lot of the bad passes that we have made when he was not on the pitch,) tackles, make the easy pass and keeps things going. Essentially what Mark Noble did in previous year. I don't think this enough for Bilic, he wants things quicker in my opinion (I have no conduit to his thoughts as some posters seem to)
Noble's role has changed and he has struggled with aspects of it but he also has an important initial role in a number of the goal we have scored. He will have to adjust but I still say there is time. What I have liked about Mark Noble has got him into trouble lately and that is, he does not hide. He is unfortunately making silly decision trying to be this more advanced play starter and the defensive midfielder at the same time (because no one else is doing the latter.) So he tries both tackles and passes he should not. If we can find a midfielder that can do both, great, (Song maybe) until then he is an important part but needs support that our system is not giving him against teams that are contend to sit and wait for us to make a mistake.

Re: Your first eleven if everyone's fit

Noble would be in my 11 despite him being the "new" target of the boo boys that pathetically need a scapegoat because he's in better form than Kouyate and has been very good when then manager's picked the right formation.
